Hi... and welcome to “Life in a Northern Town. OR an alternate name for this site might be... “How we traded a comfortable life in Eastern Ontario for life in the Canadian Arctic”.

In any case, who is “We” you might ask, well “We” are Rick, Deenah and Tarrah Kelly and of course Fartus or “Baby” as the girls call her..

This site is a way for us to keep in touch with friends and family back in Southern Canada and to keep them up to date on this adventure we have embarked upon.

	In July of 2005, Rick accepted a job with the Safety Services Division of the Government of Nunavut (GN) as the Electrical Inspector for the Qikiqtaaluk region of the Territory of Nunavut.

		Fartus or Baby


	Rick moved to Iqaluit, the capital of Nunavut, on the 8th of August of 2005. Deenah and Tarrah followed on the 28th of September 2005. Iqaluit is located on the lower portion of Baffin Island and is the fastest growing city in Canada.
